today in geography we had to go look at where all the clothes in our closets come from. Turns out i have the fruitful labor of TWENTY SIX different countries in my closet, including Brunei Darussalam, which is HERE:

So much for thinking everything is made in china.
I also learned that there are 6.7 billion people in the world, 80% of them live in the third world, 50% have never made a phone call, and 17 of the worlds 20 largest cities are in developing countries. and YET, companies are spending over TWO MILLION dollars for a 30 second superbowl ad while the rest of the world is starving. WHAT THE HECK, PEOPLE!?
ANNNNDDD.... Canada, not ANY country in the middle east, is the USA's largest supplier of petroleum.
anyways. for a long time i wanted to be a teacher in an inner city becausei love kids, want to change the world (or, you know, part of it) and want to travel. the game plan was be a teacher and work for international relief agencies in the summer. but i just found out about this program where i could major in international development, minor in urban studies, then get an internship with the international organization for social justice and teach adults how to read around the world while also working to improve the basic quality of life of local villages. thats helping people AND kids AND traveling
lots to think about
i want to do everything, and thats a problem
cause i dont know entirely what God wants
so im working on it.
